Bouchercon, Cleveland, 4-7 October

I'm going to Bouchercon, the mystery writers' convention which is held in a different city each year. This year, 4-7 October, it will be held in Cleveland, Ohio.

This will be the first time that I have attended Bouchercon and I'm really looking forward to it. There will be special guests and discussion panels. I got into the mood by going to hear P D James and Ruth Rendell talking about crime fiction at the Soho Literary Festival in London last Friday. They discussed their favourite books, their favourite titles, how to come up with a title, writers' block (neither of them suffer from it), what they're writing next (an article on a real-life crime mystery from P D James and another Wexford book from Ruth Rendell) and why P D James's daughter is called Jane. If you read her most recent book, Death Comes to Pemberley, you may guess the answer to that last one...

Are you going to Bouchercon? Let me know. I'll look forward to seeing you there.
