The readers at LDM London will be 2011 Bristol Prize short-listee Niven Govinden (author of Black Bread White Beer and Graffiti My Soul), Desmond Elliott Prize long-listee Will Wiles (author of Care of Wooden Floors), writer and wonder-woman Maggie Alderson and rock n roll writer Zoe Howe. I'll be judging the contest with comedian Wendy Wason and multiple award-winning comedian/writer/actor Tom Allen.
The opening Polari of the season is headlined by Jonathan Harvey, author of 'All She Wants', 'Beautiful Thing' and writer of 'Coronation Street'. Jonathan is joined by Penny Arcade, Jesse Blackadder, Adam Lowe and Adrian Dalton.
Polari is at the Royal Festival Hall on Monday 24th September at 7.45 pm. Tickets are £5 and are almost sold out so book yours now if you want to go along.
I'll be reading from The Miracle Inspector at Camden Working Men's College on Friday 28th September at an event called Celebrating Women Writers, hosted by Lucy Popescu. The other readers will be Tracy Brabin, Syd Moore, Chibundu Onuzo and Denise Saul.
Celebrating Women Writers starts at 7pm. Tickets are £5 including a glass of wine.
